A Post-Doc position under the supervision of Prof. Micol Rossini is available at the remote sensing of environmental dynamics lab, Department of Earth and Environmental Sciences, University of Milano Bicocca.
The position is related to the Project “Development and test of algorithm for vegetation functional parameter retrieval from PRISMA in agro-forestry” funded by the Italian Space Agency.
A position is open for a young researcher to apply for a two-year CNES postdoc (the PhD thesis must be defended before the end of December 2022) on the remote sensing of soil moisture in the solar domain.
The job profiles in French and English are attached. Applications should be sent for the selection phase to S. Jacquemoud & Xavier Briottet, as soon as possible. Please find contacts in the French or English versions of the postdoc description.
The selected candidate will have to submit an online application on the CNES website before March 31, 2022. As these positions are very selective, only a candidate with an excellent scientific record will be considered.
As announced in February, we will organize our 1st DESIS User Workshop from Tuesday, 28th of September to Friday, 1st of October 2021. Workshop attendance is free, open and fully online.
Please find any useful information about the workshop topics, important dates and abstract submission regulations on our DESIS workshop website: https://desis2021.welcome-manager.de/ . If you are planning to participate, please first register here.
Would you like to actively participate in the workshop? Our abstract submission will be open from 1st July 2021 till 23th July 2021.
the MARMIT model [1] simulates soil reflectance spectra in the solar domain as a function of surface soil moisture content. The authors are please to announce the release of the Python codes of MARMIT through a GitLab platform, as well as six data sets that were used to calibrate and validate it.
If you have any questions or if you want to give feedback, please feel free to contact Stéphane Jacquemoud (jacquemoud@ipgp.fr) and Alice Dupiau (dupiau@ipgp.fr), PhD student supervised by Xavier Briotter (ONERA) and Stéphane Jacquemoud (IPGP).

A postdoc position is open at the Coastal Benthic Ecology Laboratory (LEBCO), DYNECO (Dynamics of Coastal Ecosystems) research unit (IFREMER, Plouzane, France):
The Optical Society’s (OSA) 2020 Hyperspectral Imaging and Sounding of the Environment (HISE) meeting will take place on 19 – 23 July 2021 in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada. The meeting brings together researchers and industry leaders in the field of hyperspectral remote sensing of terrestrial, coastal, oceanic, and atmospheric phenomena and industrial processes. You can find more information about the meeting and the topic categories at http://www.osa.org/HISE.
We solicit presentations on recent advances in all aspects of active and passive hyperspectral remote sensing, including, but not limited to, instrumentation, image processing, information extraction through artificial intelligence and machine learning techniques, radiative transfer modeling, atmospheric correction, algorithm development, data product retrieval, disaster response, and environmental monitoring.
The meeting will be held in a hybrid format, consisting of virtual and in-person (contingent on local rules and travel restrictions during the meeting dates) presentations. The inability to travel will not be a hindrance to participating and presenting at the meeting.
